(Yangon – 27th June, 2019) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, provided high quality internship trainings to selected final-year students from 29 technological and computer universities in terms of lending its expertise to the government’s aim to prepare the youth to become competent professionals in the ICT industry. MPT experts shared telecommunications related knowledge and experiences to the upcoming young professionals.
To those 143 final year students attended in Yangon, certificate awarding ceremony for their complement has been held in MPT Training Center at Lower Pazundaung Road, Pazun Daung Township, Yangon, Myanmar today. The students studied a wide range of subjects that included the following: Workspace Relationship, Heath, Safety and Environment (HSE) awareness and information; Security Training; Essential Business Training; Technology and other related subjects.
This is the second year of MPT’s nationwide internship program by the supporting of Ministry of Transports and Communications and Ministry of Education through the whole process to provide professional internship training programs to deserving future-professionals in the industry. MPT Internship Program has launched starting from 2018 MPT accepted altogether 1,300 final-year students from nationwide Technological and Computer Universities and shared to improve the workplace skills and industrial knowledge. This year MPT accepted 15 interns from Yangon have been selected among 143 interns who participated in Yangon, to continue for more effective program and on-job training at MPT’s Network Operation Center (NOC) which is located at Alone Township, Yangon.
“I feel very lucky to be selected and be able to participate it in this Internship program,” said, Ma Tin Nilar Maw who is from electronics engineering major of Thanlyin Technological University, one of the participants in this year’s internship program. “It enabled me to see how things are conducted in the real business world. These learning will be invaluable to my professional career in the near future. I am thankful to MPT, the Ministry of Transport and Communication, and the Ministry of Education, for their effort to prepare us students to become better professionals.”
U Myint Thein Htun, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations happily shares his thoughts: “MPT-KSGM JO has always cared for the community we work in. It is part of our corporate thrust ‘Myanmar in our heart’. Through this tri-partite collaboration among MPT, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the Ministry of Education, we do demonstrate how it is able to create a sustainable eco-system of knowledge and expertise transfer. Deeply Thanks to all of the respective persons from Ministries for single supportive advice in our program that trying to support the internship trains Myanmar youth to be able take on key positions and responsibilities in the telecoms industry in the future, to manage and upgrade its capabilities, and to transfer these experiences and knowledge to the next generation. And Congratulations! to those certificate awarded students to have the best opportunities in near future and wishing to see them as a professional in their career pathway in near future.
The internship program which lasted for approximately 2 months, between 6 May to 28 June this year, was conducted under the guidance of MPT’s local experts at MPT headquarters and training center as well as state and regional offices.
